Today at 8 p.m. Legia begin the second half of their campaign at home to Pogon Szczecin. In the spring season, every game is a must-win game for the Warsaw team as they lose eight points to the current title-holders, Wisla Krakow. Legia, which finished the previous season at the second position, with 27 points, host Pogon who currently occupy ninth place in the league table. But in spite of the twelve-point gap between the two clubs, Pogon is not without chances as the Szczecin side triumphed in the last two meetings, beating Legia 3:0 at home (league match) and 3:1 in Warsaw (Polish cup game).
None of the teams have been weakened during winter. Pogon Szczecin aquired two Brasilian players - Adriano and Edi as well as Divecky, Kasprak, Kuchar, Peskovic and … Mirko Poledica, a tall defender loaned from Legia where he did not manage to get it through to the first team. The only Pogon top player who will not appear tomorrow on the pitch is Sergio Batata who is still recovering following the recent knee surgery. Legia coach Jacek Zielinski cannot make use, apart from the injured Marek Jozwiak, Dickson Choto (recurring Achilles problems) and Tomasz Jarzebowski, of the young and promising defender, Jakub Rzezniczak, suspended for the game due to his fourth and fifth yellow card received in the final autumn encounter. Legia Warszawa - Pogon Szczecin, 11.03. (8 p.m.), Lazienkowska 3
